4. Data Collection on This Website

Cookies

Our websites use so-called "cookies." Cookies are small data packets and do not cause any damage to your device. They are stored on your device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or until they are automatically deleted by your web browser.

Cookies can originate from us (first-party cookies) or from third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies enable the integration of certain services provided by third-party companies within websites (e.g., cookies for processing payment services).

Cookies have various functions. Many cookies are technically necessary, since certain website functions would not work without them (e.g., the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies may be used to analyze user behavior or for advertising purposes.

Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process, to provide certain functions you have requested (e.g., the shopping cart function), or to optimize the website (e.g., cookies for measuring the web audience) (necessary cookies) are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, unless another legal basis is specified. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing necessary cookies to ensure the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. If consent to the storage of cookies and similar recognition technologies has been requested, the processing takes place exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG); consent may be revoked at any time.

You can configure your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.

You can find out which cookies and services are used on this website in this privacy policy.

Server Log Files

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources.

This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimization of its website – for this purpose, the server log files must be collected.

Contact Form

If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact details you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your inquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary to carry out pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of inquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) if this has been requested; consent may be revoked at any time.

The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, revoke your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g., after your inquiry has been fully processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.

Campaign Attribution for Form Inquiries

If you consent, we store campaign parameters from the URL you accessed, for example utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content, and assign them to your form inquiry. This allows us to understand which campaign led to your inquiry. For this purpose, these parameters are stored on your device and processed together with your inquiry.

These campaign parameters are not passed on to advertising platforms in this context; they are not used for retargeting.

The legal basis is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. This consent is independent of your consent to marketing and conversion tracking and may be revoked at any time with effect for the future. Without this consent, no UTM parameters are stored or displayed with your inquiry.

Inquiries by Email, Telephone or Fax

If you contact us by email, telephone or fax, your inquiry, including all resulting personal data (name, inquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request.

The data you send us via contact inquiries will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, revoke your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g., after your request has been fully processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.

Registration on This Website

You can register on this website in order to use additional functions on the site. We use the data entered for this purpose only for the purpose of using the respective offer or service for which you have registered. The mandatory information requested during registration must be provided in full. Otherwise, we will reject the registration.

In the event of important changes, for example to the scope of the offer or technically necessary changes, we will use the email address provided during registration to inform you in this way.

The data entered during registration is processed for the purpose of carrying out the user relationship established by the registration and, where applicable, for initiating further contracts (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

The data collected during registration will be stored by us for as long as you are registered on this website and will then be deleted. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

Plausible Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics on our website. The provider is Plausible Insights OÜ, Västriku tn 2, 50403, Tartu, Estonia.

We host Plausible Analytics on our own servers (on premise).

Plausible Analytics enables us to analyze the behavior of our website visitors. For this purpose, the following data in particular is collected: page URL, HTTP request, HTTP referrer, browser, operating system, device type and IP address. The HTTP request and IP address are stored in a hash for 24 hours; within this period, a user can be recognized if they return to the website. Identification of the person is not possible.

Google Ads

The website operator uses Google Ads. Google Ads is an online advertising program of Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Ads enables us to display advertisements in the Google search engine or on third-party websites when the user enters certain search terms on Google (keyword targeting). In addition, targeted advertisements can be displayed based on the user data available to Google (e.g., location data and interests) (audience targeting). As the website operator, we can analyze this data quantitatively, for example by analyzing which search terms led to our advertisements being displayed and how many advertisements led to corresponding clicks.

This service is used on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. Consent may be revoked at any time.

Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. You can find details here: https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks and https://business.safety.google/controllerterms/.

With the help of Google Conversion Tracking, Google and we can recognize whether the user has performed certain actions. For example, we can evaluate which buttons on our website were clicked and how often, and which products were viewed or purchased particularly frequently. This information is used to create conversion statistics. We learn the total number of users who clicked on our ads and which actions they performed. We do not receive any information with which we can personally identify the user. Google itself uses cookies or similar recognition technologies for identification.

This service is used on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. Consent may be revoked at any time.

You can find more information about Google Conversion Tracking in Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.

Google Ads Remarketing

This website uses the functions of Google Ads Remarketing. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

With Google Ads Remarketing, we can assign people who interact with our online offering to specific target groups in order to subsequently display interest-based advertising to them in the Google advertising network (remarketing or retargeting).

Furthermore, the advertising target groups created with Google Ads Remarketing can be linked to Google's cross-device functions. In this way, interest-based, personalized advertising messages that have been tailored to you based on your previous usage and browsing behavior on one device (e.g., cell phone) can also be displayed on another of your devices (e.g., tablet or PC).

If you have a Google account, you can object to personalized advertising at the following link: https://adssettings.google.com/anonymous?hl=de.

This service is used on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. Consent may be revoked at any time.

You can obtain further information on this from the provider at the following link: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/participant/5780.

Audience Building with Customer Match

To build target groups, we use, among other things, the customer match feature of Google Ads Remarketing. In doing so, we transfer certain customer data (e.g., email addresses) from our customer lists to Google. If the customers concerned are Google users and are logged into their Google account, relevant advertising messages will be displayed to them within the Google network (e.g., on YouTube, Gmail or in the search engine).

6. Newsletter

Newsletter Data

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an email address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected, or only on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties.

The data entered in the newsletter registration form is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the email address and its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the "unsubscribe" link in the newsletter. The lawfulness of data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data you provide to us for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored by us or the newsletter service provider until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted from the newsletter distribution list after you unsubscribe from the newsletter or once the purpose no longer applies. We reserve the right to delete or block email addresses from our newsletter distribution list at our own discretion within the scope of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected by this.

After you have been removed from the newsletter distribution list, your email address may be stored by us or the newsletter service provider in a blacklist if this is necessary to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist is used only for this purpose and is not merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in complying with the legal requirements when sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Storage in the blacklist is not limited in time. You may object to the storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.

8. Our Own Services

Handling of Applicant Data

We offer you the opportunity to apply to us (e.g., by email, by mail or via an online application form). Below, we inform you about the scope, purpose and use of your personal data collected as part of the application process. We assure you that the collection, processing and use of your data will be carried out in accordance with applicable data protection law and all other statutory provisions and that your data will be treated as strictly confidential.

Scope and Purpose of Data Collection

If you send us an application, we process the associated personal data (e.g., contact and communication data, application documents, notes taken during job interviews, etc.) insofar as this is necessary to decide on the establishment of an employment relationship. The legal basis for this is § 26 BDSG (German Federal Data Protection Act) under German law (initiation of an employment relationship), Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (general initiation of a contract) and – if you have given consent – Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent can be revoked at any time. Within our company, your personal data will only be passed on to persons involved in processing your application.

If the application is successful, the data you submitted will be stored in our data processing systems on the basis of § 26 BDSG and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for the purpose of carrying out the employment relationship.

Data Retention Period

If we are unable to offer you a position, you decline a job offer or you withdraw your application, we reserve the right to retain the data you submitted on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for up to 6 months from the end of the application process (rejection or withdrawal of the application). The data will then be deleted and the physical application documents destroyed. The retention serves in particular as evidence in the event of a legal dispute. If it is apparent that the data will be required after the 6-month period has expired (e.g., due to an impending or pending legal dispute), deletion will only take place when the purpose for further retention no longer applies.

Longer retention may also take place if you have given corresponding consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) or if statutory retention obligations preclude deletion.

Our Social Media Presences

This Privacy Policy Applies to the Following Social Media Presences

Data Processing by Social Networks

We maintain publicly accessible profiles on social networks. The individual social networks we use can be found below.

Social networks such as Facebook, X, etc. can generally analyze your user behavior comprehensively when you visit their website or a website with integrated social media content (e.g., like buttons or advertising banners). Visiting our social media presences triggers numerous data protection-relevant processing operations. In detail:

If you are logged into your social media account and visit our social media presence, the operator of the social media portal can assign this visit to your user account. Under certain circumstances, however, your personal data may also be collected if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social media portal. In this case, this data collection takes place, for example, via cookies stored on your end device or by recording your IP address.

With the help of the data collected in this way, the operators of the social media portals can create user profiles in which your preferences and interests are stored. In this way, interest-based advertising can be displayed to you inside and outside the respective social media presence. If you have an account with the respective social network, interest-based advertising can be displayed on all devices on which you are or were logged in.

Please also note that we cannot trace all processing operations on the social media portals. Depending on the provider, further processing operations may therefore be carried out by the operators of the social media portals. For details, please refer to the terms of use and privacy policies of the respective social media portals.

Legal Basis

Our social media presences are intended to ensure the most comprehensive presence possible on the internet. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The analysis processes initiated by the social networks may be based on different legal bases, which must be specified by the operators of the social networks (e.g., consent within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Controller and Assertion of Rights

If you visit one of our social media presences (e.g., Facebook), we are jointly responsible with the operator of the social media platform for the data processing operations triggered during this visit. You can generally assert your rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and complaint) both against us and against the operator of the respective social media portal (e.g., against Facebook).

Please note that, despite the joint responsibility with the social media portal operators, we do not have full influence over the data processing operations of the social media portals. Our options are largely determined by the corporate policy of the respective provider.
